Holiday Edition · printable

Good Stewards.

This Christmas, your kid runs the list: the grocery run, the family’s gifts and a gift for someone who needs it. Real money. Real decisions. You hold the cart and keep quiet.

The three jobs

Your kid doesn’t need another talk about money. They need a job.

Job 1 · the warm-up

The Grocery List

Hand them the list and a budget that’s a little tight. They find, compare, choose and keep the total. At the register, they pay. If it’s over, they put something back. Not you.

The Gift List

This Christmas, your kid buys the presents, with the gift budget for the whole family: siblings, grandparents, the dog. They plan it, shop it, pay for it, wrap it and hand each gift over themselves.

Job 3 · the one they remember

The Giving List

With a giving budget set aside first, they pick who, find out what’s actually needed, buy it and hand it over themselves, with you there. Then the Dinner Debrief cards do the talking.

What’s in the 14-page PDF

Everything for three jobs, printed at home.

  • A page written to your kid, by name (“Hey, Maya”), and a start-here page for you, with a print guide
  • Their name on every page: type it once before printing and it fills the kid page, all three worksheets and the certificate. Or print it and write it in.
  • A parent playbook for each job: the setup, what will go wrong, exactly what to say when it does, and the safety net you set in advance
  • Three kid worksheets: the grocery list with a running total and a put-back pile, the top-secret gift planner with a receipt pocket, and the giving list
  • 9 badges to cut out or print on sticker paper ↗ (Amazon affiliate link), and 9 Dinner Debrief cards (one is for the grown-up)
  • “How they pay”: cash envelopes, a kid debit card, or your card, honestly compared
  • The “I ran the list!” certificate for each job, and the next four lists for after the holidays

Two levels

It fits a six-year-old and a ten-year-old.

Little Shopper · ages 6–7

Three to five items, whole dollars. They hold the money and pay. You read prices aloud.

List Boss · ages 8–10

The real list, a running total, the trade-offs and the register.

Kids 11 and up can use the parent playbooks with a plain notebook.

What it is not

Not a chore chart. Not a sticker system.

Not a curriculum. Not financial advice. One job per weekend is plenty. Nothing in the kit requires buying anything; every job works with cash.

What ages?

6 to 10, in two levels. Little Shoppers (6–7) run three to five items while you read prices aloud; List Bosses (8–10) run the real list and keep the total. Kids 11 and up can use the parent playbooks with a plain notebook.

Do I need a printer?

Only for the worksheets and cards. Print single-sided: two pages get cut. The playbook reads fine on a phone.

Does it need a special card or app?

No. Cash envelopes are the recommended way for younger kids.

Is it religious? Is it only for Christmas?

It isn’t religious. It’s built for the weeks before Christmas, but the Gift List works for any gift-giving holiday, and the Giving List works year-round.

How does delivery work?

Instant digital download after purchase: one PDF, US Letter, prints fine in black and white. No physical item ships. Because it’s a digital file, returns aren’t possible; message me if anything is wrong and I’ll make it right.

Running it with a group?

Each family needs its own copy. For a co-op, classroom or church group, message me on Etsy for a Group License that covers the whole group.
